Cultural Anthropology

What is Cultural Anthropology? | Cultural Anthropology Projects

Cultural Anthropologists at the University of Tennessee study a wide range of issues across the world. From the gendered dynamics of development and globalization in India, to the struggles of Latinx immigrants in the contemporary U.S., refugees and human rights, armed conflict, and the politics of repatriation in East Africa, the impacts and processes following natural and unnatural disasters, particularly as they shape struggles over land, resources and life in India and the U.S., and the workings of political-economy, gender and sexuality in the postsocialist Republic of Armenia, and access and equity issues in mental healthcare in the U.S, and much more.
