Atsei Cooper
MA Student | Anthropological Archaeology
Atsei (pronounced ah-ZAY-ee) Cooper is an alumna of the University of Utah with a BA in Anthropology (2021). While in Utah, she attended archaeological field school in Range Creek Canyon and worked in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) throughout the Great Basin. More recently, she has worked as registrar at the Museum of the Cherokee People. In addition, Cooper has interned with EBCI Natural Resources and the Nantahala Forest Service as a Botany Intern. Cooper’s interests are in NAGPRA, Cherokee archaeology, and Indigenous relationships with plants and the land.
