Lauren Georgiana Koutlias is broadly interested in the ways that childhood adversity can be embodied in the adult skeleton and has studied the impact of social, political, and economic inequality on life course trajectories in ancient and modern populations. Her dissertation research is focused on the developmental effects and long-term skeletal evidence of the Axis occupation and civil war in Greeks who were born or children during those events.
