Ashe Black is a proud non-traditional, first-generation scholar and an enrolled member of the Lenni Lenape Delaware Tribe of Indians and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. Ashe’s research interests span biomechanics, form and function, evolutionary biology, human variation, morphometrics, experimental archaeology, paleontology, hominid locomotor evolution, the modern locomotor skeleton, musculoskeletal modeling, and comparative anatomy. She is equally passionate about community-based outreach, mentorship, and research that highlights the treatment and experiences of marginalized groups.
