Peter Brummel

MA Student | Biological Anthropology

Chair: Dr. Steven Lautzenheiser

Peter graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences from Purdue University Northwest in 2026. During his time at Purdue, Peter received two undergraduate research grants which funded his study of bacterial pigment production. In 2025, he participated in Indiana University’s Archaeology Field School. Peter worked as an excavator at the Twin Pines Village site in the Gila National Forest of New Mexico.

Peter enrolled as a MA student at UTK in 2026. His research is focused on functional morphology and the inference of locomotor behaviors in early hominins.
