Farouk Ajibade

PhD student | Anthropological Archaeology

Farouk is a doctoral student in Anthropology with research interests lie in the archaeology of Atlantic West Africa, particularly in understanding how Yoruba communities in the hinterland navigated the complexities of the Atlantic Age. Born and raised in Ibadan, southwest Nigeria, Farouk received his BA in archaeology from the University of Ibadan. He has participated in various archaeological field projects focused on exploring the development of Yoruba states and communities in Southwest Nigeria, including the Ife-Sungbo Archaeological Project (ISAP) and the Old Oyo Archaeological Project. In his free time, Farouk enjoys playing and watching soccer.
