Mary Katherine Brown

PhD student | Anthropological Archaeology

Preferred pronouns: she/her

Mary Katherine received her BA in Anthropology/Sociology and Political Economy from Rhodes College in 2023 and her MA in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology from the University of Tennessee in 2025. Mary Katherine has worked on several historic sites in Tennessee and Virginia. Her research interests include paleoethnobotany, stable isotope analysis, historical archaeology of eastern North America, material culture, and historic foodways and plant management practices.
